What Is Latent Semantic Indexing?
Latent semantic indexing, or LSI, looks through and analyzes the text of a web page and looks for keywords that would, if the page was genuine and not just stuffed with a keyword for SEO purposes, naturally show up alongside the main keyword for that page. For example, if your web page is about pandas and panda is the primary keyword, you would expect words like bamboo, China, and zoo, to come up. LSI is used to check whether or not a page is genuine and therefore boosts the search rankings of any site that also uses the peripheral keywords associated with the main keyword.
