What Is a Domain Name?

A domain name is a unique address on the Internet. For example, for The Brain Vine, the domain is thebrainvine.com and all other websites using that name, such as thebrainvine.com/blog/ or thebrainvine.com/contact-us/, fall within that domain. The domain refers to the entire site as a whole, and includes each page that uses its unique name as part of their URL.
